The Avengers in Fifteen Minutes

Got a new feature here: the LJ "like" function, which seems to work more like Tumblr's reblog than stealing my stuff, so I tentatively endorse this; it's not the problem I have with people jacking entire entries and reposting them as their own work.

ETA: Apparently the new LJ repost function is bringing in some (very angry) complaints, so we're going to have to reverse that endorsement. I'm leaving the Twitter/Facebook/G+ options on since no one seems to have any problems with those. If you are seeing this entry and do not wish to see this entry I am very sorry and have done what I can to prevent it from happening again.

This one ran long. Given the movie in question, I don't think anyone will really mind. Don't know what, if anything, I might do next, except that I will soldier through the ~thrilling conclusion~ of Breaking Dawn or die trying.

Chairing some guys to death, please holdCollapse )

Okay. For some reason, this comm is showing up on my friends feed despite the fact I haven't joined it or added it to my watch list. Any ideas on what happened and how to get it back off again? No offense, but...I'd rather choose my comms than have them choose me.

Sorry about this--the form answer is, there's a new LJ repost function that's more like Tumblr's reblog function, and someone on your friends list has reposted this entry. I've taken the ability to do that off this post to see if that can cut down on the annoyance for people, but I'm not the one who can retroactively unblog it from them. Again, sorry about this.

Awesome. Hilarious. I am leaking tears of laughter. :D I love the screencaps with the captions - was already giggling at most of it and straight up busted out at "AND IIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIII WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU"

OK, and seriously, now that I'm reading through the comments, kudos for your patience at dealing with some pretty hideously rude "why is this on my flist" comments re the "like"/reblog/whatever function. (Not that all of them are rude, but still. Damn, people.)

I understand why they're startled and annoyed, but I'm kind of at a loss as to what else I should do about it.

Long-time lurker here -- this may be the best thing you have ever written (and I own your book, too, if that means anything). I have to say, the Whedon fandom stuff was especially inspired. I laughed until I cried when I saw the Spuffy fic reference. Not that I've ever read anything exactly like that...

Your repost feature did not work very well as I had a bunch of people on my flist thinking that your comm had intruded into their flist. Seeing it as an aggressive act. The other reposting feature which also credits the source is a little better as it allows the person who is reposting it to appear as the poster. Leads to less confusion to other people. I am just commenting as someone who reposted your content and had people take issue with your community appearing on all these flists.

Something to keep in mind. I would use another reposting method.

I see what happened, then--particularly the "older styles don't even indicate it IS a repost" part. We won't be using this particular feature again--it's a nice idea on Tumblr, I guess, but I can see how it can be intrusive in a more intimate journaling culture, I guess? Again, sorry about all of this.

This was just fantabulous. I loved the Loki faces, and Thor's Shakespearean, and the snark, and just everything!

Cleo, you are a genius. This is one of my favorite yet!

Also, wow, people are less polite around here than I thought... sorry about that!
cleolinda From: cleolinda Date: July 3rd, 2012 05:03 am (UTC) (Link)
Well, I think that was the problem--they weren't "from around here" and were very startled to find themselves Around Here. I think we've sorted out what happened. I hope.

Apologies to you!

I am going to post an apology to you for my flisters comments. Some of them were a bit over the top. They reacted a bit extremely to the repost. I think I will just link to your posts from now on. LOL.

Sorry for the comments here.

It's okay, I'm just sorry that it inconvenienced so many people. I'm sure it was sort of startling and intrusive.

So very, very, very worth wait!

I loved "FURY: Bought it off a couple of disappointed steampunks. Too many of the gears actually did something." I <3ed that with the fury of thousand people who are really tired of steampunk fans.

BRUCE: lol j/k

Yeah, I think that was my favorite part. That and EVERY SECOND of Tony/Iron Man. Oh, and all the time I thought Jeremy Renner was Nathan Fillion. Sorry guise!

I will love you forever for "Anteloper" alone, but omg I am going to read this at least a dozen more times. The Loki smilies! Samuel L. Fury having to dump Marcellus Wallace out of the briefcase! Selvig calling the tesseract "Tess"! Thoromir!

off to read again

You've probably been told this already, but nuclear weapons tend to be actually pretty darn durable. If you can open it up, you can basically wreck the thing with a piece of rebar, at the cost of radiation poisoning, and, y'know, death, but I'm pretty sure you can otherwise run over the darn things without setting them off.

Don't quote me on that.
