300 in Fifteen Minutes - 300 in Fifteen Minutes - Movies in Fifteen Minutes Page 20 — LiveJournal
This is, after all, what happens when you cross the streams.
300 in Fifteen Minutes
Well, finally. I would have done this weeks ago, but I didn't get to see the movie until Monday night as it was. A few quick notes:

>> Feel free to quote, link, or make icons, as always. The one thing I've always asked people not to do is repost an entire parody on any board, site or journal, and certainly not without my name. It's still plagiarism if you let people believe you wrote it by omitting the real author's name, y'all.

>> Speaking of icons, whatever I get done tonight I'll post in a new entry tomorrow.

>> Still no word on a North American release of the book.

Can you make do with a party hat?Collapse )

This rules hard core! Also, as I was translating my latin today I also translated this:

"Virer virissumus virere etiam aliquid."
aka- The most mansomest men to ever man something. :)

Okay, this is going to sound stupid but my aunt is dying of cancer and today I spent the entire day in the hospital watching her fight double pneumonia hooked up to all these machines and I cried so much today that I didn't think I would laugh again but this cheered me up immensely. Thank you, you have no idea how much this cheered me up.

Oh God, I'm so sorry. I know what you mean, though--you feel bad laughing about anything, but sometimes you need to be able to feel good, even for just a little while, to get through something that painful. My best wishes for both of you.

We Spartans are hard, strong, strongly hard and hardily strong
Hee. I rolled my eyes at "They were hard and strong. They were hard. They were strong." Er, we got it the first time, dude.

LEONIDAS: Hello, Home Depot? Can you give me some prices on a bottomless pit?
Heeee. We also questioned the existence of the random bottomless pit.

Three hundred of my closest friends, yes.
I made the same joke!! Okay, it was an easy one, but there it is.

Aha! I thought my viewing companion was clever, but she was just quoting you!

Also, I’m pretty sure that one of the Spartans capes a guy to death.
YES! What the hell was up with that cape thing?!

LEONIDAS: —Sparrrtaaaaaa…?

QUASIGOLLUM: Oh, benevolent Xerxes!
I'm surprised you didn't make fun of the "I am kind." bit where the camera centers directly on his magnificent golden crotch.

"Spartans have no toes! SPARTANS NEED NO TOES!"

You had me right there. I couldn't stop laughing the whole time.
(Augh, my sides hurt....)

When I first saw this movie, I would have been cracking all sorts of jokes and pointing out historical inaccuracies...

Alas, I was completely distracted by the fearsome manliness and mansome fearliness on the screen. DAYUM, those leather speedos are HOT!

So, thank you so much for making fun of it for me!
