Phantom of the Opera in Fifteen Minutes

As promised: Phantom of the Opera in Fifteen Minutes. I'm still counting up the fundraising, but we'll have a final count soon. I'm already running late with the book manuscript, but this was a very quick write--it practically parodies itself, and it was fun, and a good palate cleanser.

ETA 4/02/05: Okay. I'm gonna try to be real clear about this. I really, really liked the movie. I liked the book. I have never seen the show, but I would probably like it, and I ended up really enjoying the music. I like the actors involved. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ME COMMENTS ABOUT MY "HATE" FOR THE MOVIE. The point of these parodies is "affectionate snark." The jokes are written with love. If I hated the movie, I wouldn't bother. If you think I'm not funny, that's one thing, but please don't leave me long screeds about how I didn't "understand" or "appreciate" the movie, because you're preaching to the choir. (Yes, I have received, and am still receiving, a lot of these. Two today alone, in fact.)

P.S. Please look up the difference between "heroin" and "heroine" before you complain about my "Heroine Addict" icons. It's a pun. It's supposed to be a positive thing. I'm not calling anyone a drug user. Thank you, and enjoy.

Oh, and since it always comes up: I never have a problem with anyone leaving comments. In fact, if you'd like, you can leave them in the comments for me to see. But please don't copy or repost the entire thing anywhere; excerpts and links are always fine, though.

ETA: Minor corrections have been made to dates and a couple of names.

THE PHANTOM: Quick as a cat! Quick as a cat!—I NOOSE YOU!

BUQUET: *falls dead onto the stage*

THE PHANTOM: Oh, and the lovely Christine, who would be a perfect lead for my opera except for the fact that she is a CHEATING WHORE who prefers the Missing Hanson Brother to me.

Raoul: [running back in]: I KEEL YOU!

*OMG dies laughing*

hello. loved your work. i said it before somewhere, but i cant find it. so. on to my question. how do you copyright this stuff? i wrote a fan fic, but i dont wanna put it somewhere incase someone steals it... :(

Re: question fer the author ^.-

I'm not the best person to try to explain this, really, as I'm kind of fuzzy on it, but--basically everything you write, under US copyright law, is automatically copyrighted to you. There's nothing you have to *do* for it to be copyrighted to you. The problem is *enforcing* that copyright--preventing people from stealing, catching them, hunting them down, and then making them stop. You have the rights--there's just not always that much you can do to protect them once you've put something online.

This is why I've got "all rights reserved" plastered all over my work--because I *am* taking a risk by putting it out there. It's a risk you have to take if you want people to see your work online, particularly fanfiction.

(And thanks. : )

Thank you so very, very, very (etc.) much for doing Phantom. You are my hero. *Bows humbly to you*

I haven't gone through your page to see exactly all of the movies you have done, but I was hoping that maybe you could m15m Passion of the Christ or Labyrinth, or any of the Tim Burton movies. You're so talented, I couldn't bear to read it from anyone else!

I love Moulin Rouge! It's just that I'm tied up with the book for another month or so, and can't write any new parodies to post online for a while. : )

I read this a long time ago, and I have to tell you, I laughed hysterically thoroughout the entire thing! You are a comic genius. I just wanted to show you an icon that I made in honor of this wonderful m15m...

(sorry you have to click on the link, I'm new to LJs and I don't know how to make it just show the icon)
You can use it as long as you give me credit ;-) Thanks.

That was so funny, good job. I loved the movie, but this was fun to read. You basically summed up the movie. Loved the ending, I must go and read some of your other 15 minute stories.
